The highlight of Stephen's long-term association with housbuilders was in developing the public relations management on behalf of David Wilson Homes. His involvement with the company began in 1986 with the then East Midlands region only and, within a few years, he was responsible for PR for every region of the company, reporting directly to each region's sales director as well as directly with the Chairman and senior management; subsequently to handling PR for the commecial development arm of Wilson Bowden, as well as for the group's ancillary insurance and financial companies.
The work involved intense media relations on both a regional and national basis- during which time he produced a staggering amount of press coverage - as well as the organisation of media events throughout the country, and liaison with local authorities.
It is with some satisfaction that, some years later, the group was the subject of one of the largest housebuilding buyouts in UK housebuilding (see "OccBlog" in menu on left).
